Kitchen garden classes

Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden Foundation aims to introduce schoolkids to growing and cooking their own food. It funds and coordinates gardens in schools all over the country. But it also runs workshops for adults on everything from fruit tree pruning to owning chooks.

Check out the latest round of workshops here.

Bulleen Art & Garden also presents a year-round program. The winter series includes vegie growing for beginners and more advanced topics like the art of espalier and grafting.

You can see what’s coming up at BAAG here.

And of course closer to home, our friends at Warrandyte Neighbourhood House not only run courses on vegetable gardening: they do it right here in our gardens, in their very own plot. Term 3 courses are due to start next month.

Keep your eye on the WNH website for details.
